Daylighting & Natural Ventilation Solutions for Malaysia

  • Home
  • Daylighting & Ventilation

Malaysia's tropical climate makes effective daylighting and natural ventilation essential for every industrial, commercial and agricultural building. The right combination of FRP louvers, turbine ventilators and roof ventilation products reduces indoor temperatures, cuts daytime electricity costs, removes stale air and fumes, and creates a safer, more productive environment for workers and livestock. At Space (Asia) Sdn. Bhd. we have been designing, supplying and installing fibreglass daylighting and ventilation systems across Malaysia since 2008 — with two branches in Subang Jaya (HQ) and Bukit Mertajam (Northern) serving factory owners, contractors, consultants and building operators nationwide.

Daylighting & Ventilation Solutions

Proper daylighting and ventilation are essential for industrial and commercial buildings in Malaysia's hot climate. Natural ventilation reduces energy costs, improves worker comfort, and maintains air quality. Our solutions include FRP louvers and turbine ventilators designed for Malaysian conditions.

FRP Louvers

Natural fibreglass louvers for daylighting and ventilation in factories, sports halls, and warehouses.

Industry-Specific Ventilation Guides

Each industry has unique ventilation requirements — from heat-generating manufacturing processes to high-occupancy sports halls, sensitive livestock environments, and corrosive chemical facilities. Our guides help you understand the airflow needs for your specific application, the right combination of FRP louvers and turbine ventilators, and how to meet Malaysian Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) guidelines for fresh-air circulation.

Factory & Workshop Ventilation

Proper ventilation for heat-generating industrial processes, welding, painting, and manufacturing environments. We size FRP louver walls and turbine ventilator counts based on your floor area, roof height, heat load and the number of workers on each shift — typically targeting 15 to 30 air changes per hour for general manufacturing.

Sports Hall Ventilation

Ventilation solutions for indoor sports facilities, gymnasiums, and recreational buildings with high occupancy. Stadium-style ridge ventilation combined with low-level FRP louver walls removes body heat, humidity and CO2 build-up during events, keeping players and spectators comfortable without running air-conditioning.

Livestock & Animal Farm Ventilation

Ventilation systems for poultry farms, livestock barns, and animal housing facilities in Malaysian climate. Continuous airflow is critical for animal health, growth rates and mortality reduction — our FRP louvers and ridge turbine vents keep ammonia and humidity low while preventing heat stress in poultry, swine and cattle houses.

Warehouse & Logistics Ventilation

Roof ventilation for warehouses, distribution centres, cold-room antechambers and logistics hubs. Reducing heat build-up under metal roofing protects stored goods, improves forklift-operator comfort, and lowers air-conditioning load in office areas inside the same building.

Chemical & Petrochemical Ventilation

Corrosion-resistant ventilation for chemical plants, petrochemical complexes, fertilizer facilities and acid-handling areas. Our Moon-Lite Series FRP louvers with isophthalic resin and gelcoat withstand acidic and alkaline fumes that would destroy standard aluminium or galvanised vents within months.

Agricultural Building Ventilation

Natural ventilation for barns, storage sheds, greenhouses, palm-oil mills and other rural industrial buildings. Our fibreglass louvers and roof turbines provide low-maintenance, electricity-free airflow that keeps crops, fertiliser and farm machinery in good condition year-round.

Not Sure What You Need? Answer 4 Quick Questions

Most of our customers fall into one of these four scenarios. If any of them sounds like yours, our technical team can recommend the right combination of FRP louvers, turbine ventilators or roof vents — with a free sizing estimate for your building.

  1. Heat-heavy factory or workshop? Pair turbine vents with low-level FRP louver walls.
  2. High-occupancy hall (sports, events)? Ridge turbines + side louvers for continuous CO2 & humidity removal.
  3. Corrosive fumes or coastal salt air? Moon-Lite Series FRP louvers with isophthalic resin.
  4. Livestock barn or poultry house? Continuous low-velocity airflow via FRP louver inlets + ridge turbines.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between FRP louvers and turbine ventilators?

FRP louvers are wall or low-level installations that admit natural daylight and supply fresh air into the building, while turbine ventilators are roof-mounted, wind-driven devices that extract hot air and fumes. Most Malaysian factories use a combination of both for balanced ventilation.

How many air changes per hour (ACH) does my factory need?

Typical ACH targets for Malaysian industrial buildings are 15 to 30 air changes per hour for general manufacturing, 30 to 60 for heat-generating processes (welding, foundry, kilns), and 20 to 40 for warehouses. Our technical team can calculate the exact requirement based on your floor area, roof height, heat load and number of workers.

Do FRP louvers and turbine ventilators work without electricity?

Yes. Both rely entirely on natural forces (wind effect and stack effect) and require no power to operate. This makes them ideal for energy-conscious factories, livestock barns and remote sites, and they continue working during power outages.

Can you retrofit FRP louvers and turbine vents onto an existing metal-roof factory?

Yes. Retrofitting is one of our most common projects. We cut opening(s) into the existing metal or asbestos roof, install curb frames and fit the FRP louvers or turbine ventilators to match your roof profile. Most retrofits are completed within a few days with minimal disruption to operations.

How long does installation take and what warranty is provided?

A typical small-to-medium factory installation (10 to 30 FRP louvers) takes 3 to 7 working days depending on roof access and weather. Space Asia FRP louver products carry manufacturer warranties of 5 to 10 years against UV degradation and material defects.
